Well, I guess our visits to the doctor had slowed down too much, so we decided to go see our pediatrician this morning to see if she could come up with anything wrong with any of the girls. She served us nicely. She checked Silje's belly-button. It's always been an "outie", but now we know it's also a little baby-sized hernia. Silje has an Umbilical Hernia. Yep, our goal is to make it through all the possible diagnosis codes in the pediatricians handbook. We're well on our way.
Luckily one of the first things the doctor said was "It doesn't require surgery." Apparently, Umbilical Hernias are pretty common and it will go away on it's own by the time Silje is 4 or 5 years old with no treatment. Meanwhile she has a little indicator button that pops up when she cries or gets mad. Because, you know, we needed another indicator of when she's upset besides the banshee screaming.

Good to see our children are related!! Gaby had one of those at birth and for the first couple of months. I remember the no surgery comment was the first thing the dr. told me as well! Gaby's is now pretty much gone and her belly button has slipped back into an inny! Kaitlyn has always had an outie but didn't ever have the hernia. Her's looks like a little button. Funny how things like this pop up!
