From Ailey's Birthday ... Waaaaaayyy Back

I'm trying to get back into blogging mode these days and finding I've been out of it way too long! I'll start by posting some of the many pictures that have been taken over the past month or so. I posted some pictures from Ailey's kid-birthday party a while back. These ones were taken on her actual day and at her family birthday party. She is still enjoying being 5!

Birthday Road Trip

Oh, Blog, I've missed you! April has been a busy month for me, with lots of events, activities and to-dos. And it's not over yet. But while I'm not quite back into the blogging swing of things, I wanted to post pictures from our little family get-away this past weekend.

Andy's birthday was on Saturday and we surprised him with a trip to Lake Chelan. We concluded that our family road trip wasn't exactly relaxing, but the girls had fun with all their running around a beautiful, warm, spring-y Lake Chelan, and it was a good warm-up to our Minnesota road-trip planned for this summer.

I took over 300 pictures (you wouldn't believe how easy that was!), so consider yourself lucky I'm only posting these! :)

SNOMOMS Spring Sale

SNOMOMS Children's Clothing and Equipment Sale is coming up this Saturday at Edmonds Community College. This is the twins club I have been a member of for the past couple years. I've been on the sale committee this year, including last fall's successful sale in November.

It's been fun, despite scheduling it during Ailey's birthday week and Easter! I'm excited about the sale ... and maybe looking forward to the day after a little. :)

A Sprinkling of Pixie Dust...

Ailey turns 5 next week! She had her first "kid" birthday party yesterday. We invited her preschool class as well as a few others and ended up with 14 kids running around the house in pirate garb and fairy wings!

Ailey wanted a Tinkerbell party, so we just added in Neverland's pirates to make it more boy-friendly. :) It was quite the scene!

We filled a pinata with "treasure" and everyone got to pull a string. The "trick" string that opens it up wasn't in the first round of strings, so Andy had to hold on tight for two pulls!

We had a treasure chest cake that was such a hit it was gone before I could even taste test it!
It was a fun party, and fun to see Ailey so excited about having all her friends celebrate with her. ... Not sure we'll be inviting the whole class next year though. Maybe a destination party next time! ;)

We had a little sunshine throughout the day (I won't lament the cold and wind, it is what it is!).

The girls enjoyed getting, then carrying around, their Easter baskets full of goodies. Marin and Silje, at least, enjoyed as much candy as they could cram into their mouths! (Ailey still isn't much for the stuff.)

And they, of course, loved the chance to dress up! Ailey's was a Palm Sunday dress as well as an Easter dress. Marin and Silje's dresses are, yes, Aunt Vicki dresses that have been just waiting for this Easter Sunday to come out!
